The spread of volcanic ash is very wide, found almost all over the world.

granted by the Head of the North Sumatra Provincial Service through the Decree of the Head of the
Forestry and Plantation Service of Samosir Regency Number 005 of 2013.[1] Chairman of the Executive Board of the Samosir Nauli Care Forum
(Pesona), Rohani Manalu stated that the permit obtained led PT GDS to carry out logging of natural
wood in the forest without having an AMDAL.[1] Rohani
also stated that another consequence was the occurrence of landslides and floods which caused
casualties. Due to the logging of the Tele forest, the
eroded mud on the logged-over land has caused the silting of the rivers around Lake Toba.

The one million tree planting program initiated by the North Sumatra Provincial government
is said to be ineffective because many trees die because they are not cared for. This caused three North Sumatran environmental activists, Marandus
Sirait, Hasoloan Manik (Kalpataru), and Wilmar Eliaser Simandjorang (Satya Lencana Karya Satya, Toba
Award, Wana Lestari) to return all certificates of appreciation that had been given by the North
Sumatra Provincial government, the Ministry of Forestry, and National
Palace.
The Minister of the Environment, Balthasar Kambuaya, has sent two letters of
recommendation to the Regent of Samosir Mangindar Simbolon as the giver of the business license and
the person in charge to impose administrative sanctions in the form of closing business activities.
After the first letter was ignored, the Regent of
Samosir replied to the second letter by stating that the company had not violated and therefore did
not deserve to be closed. Because the Regent did not
implement the recommendation, the Ministry of Environment also imposed a Second Line Enforcement and
temporarily closed the activities of PT GDS. This will
